We offer a one-stop clinic (you can see different members of the healthcare team in one place) to diagnose and treat urological problems to make the process as quick and efficient as possible for you.
Investigations may include ultrasound, x-ray, cystoscopy, biopsy, blood and urine tests. We care for patients with the following conditions:

We are able to provide direct access to:
- CT scanning
- ultrasound
- urodynamic studies (assesses how the bladder and urethra are working)
- cystoscopy (a procedure to look inside the bladder using a thin camera called a cystoscope.)
- TRUSS biopsy (using an ultrasound probe which takes measurements of the prostate gland, and and can see the surrounding structures at the same time),
- trial without catheter,
- bladder instillations (involves filling the bladder with a solution, leaving it place for a short period of time, and then draining the solution with a catheter)
- lithotripsy (a non-invasive procedure involving the physical destruction of hardened masses like kidney stones, bezoars or gallstones)
- x-rays
Where we are
We provide consultant-led inpatient and day surgery for urology patients undergoing treatment for disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and reproductive organs at both St Richard’s and Worthing hospitals.
Our outpatient clinic also takes place at Southlands and the Princess Royal Hospital. We provide elective and emergency urology services at Princess Royal Hospital in the Ansty Ward.
