I have been nursing for 33 years and have worked in clinical care, regulation and senior nursing leadership roles. I returned to clinical practice in the Emergency Department at Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in 2020 and remain as passionate about excellence in patient care as I did when I first began. I am proud to have served as the Staff Governor for RSCH/RACH for the past three years and am now asking to continue with that work.
I have championed the great work teams across both RSCH and RACH do and have raised issues that matter to you. I have spoken up about things that need to be better as well as recognising the good the Trust does. I know great care can never be achieved without staff of all grades and job roles having a strong voice that can be heard at the most senior levels and as the staff representative Governor for RSCH I will continue to do that for you.
I will continue to listen to people across the hospital to ensure I hear what is important to all of us. I will continue to work positively and constructively within the Council and with the Trust Board on your behalf. So much has been achieved at RSCH over the past three years, but there is more to be done.
My connections across the hospital as an ED Matron will provide you with a strong voice that is rooted in the everyday experiences of us all.
