We’ve launched our Big Conversation campaign inviting people to help shape our five-year strategy for the Trust.
We want to hear the views of those who know most about what they want from our services – the people and communities who rely on local hospital care.
So, starting today (9 October), we’re asking you to take part in the “Big Conversation”. This is your chance to tell us what aspects of local hospital care work – and what doesn’t – and what you want from our hospital services in the future. The invitation goes out to patients, carers, our health and care partners and everyone else living locally who wants to participate.
We want to make sure that the needs and priorities of patients, carers and the wider community are fully understood, and that the Trust can better serve the people who rely on local hospital services by placing them at the heart of its vision and strategic decision making.
Roxanne Smith, Chief Strategy Officer, said:
“Fundamentally, our task is to give the best, safest care possible to everyone who needs to come into any of our hospitals. And we can only do that if we are inclusive, if we listen to everyone – that is why we want to hear from as many patients, carers and communities as possible.
“It’s vital that any new strategy is meaningful to all our local communities, while tackling some of the larger healthcare challenges. Please tell us what you think about our services, and what you want from us in the future – the people who use our services are better placed than anyone else to know what works, and what we need to change.”
The conversation is kicking off with a series of surveys asking high-level questions relating to our reputation and performance, and people’s experiences of the Trust.
With the staff survey already complete, there are two externally focussed surveys which are open until the 19 November.
One survey is aimed at the public, and one is aimed at people working for our partner organisations, to hear about their experiences of working with hospital teams.
