Dr Michael Michail is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Sussex Cardiac Centre, Brighton. His clinical expertise encompasses the management of all general cardiac conditions, and he has a specialist interest in the management of ischaemic heart disease and aortic stenosis. Dr Michail is based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. He also sees private patients at the Nuffield and Spire Hospitals in Sussex.
He performs cardiac procedures including coronary angiography, pressure wire studies, intravascular imaging, coronary angioplasty and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
Dr Michail graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London and undertook training in large tertiary centres in London including The Heart Hospital UCLH and Barts Heart Centre. He then undertook a 3-year funded PhD research and interventional fellowship at MonashHeart, Melbourne, Australia in collaboration with University College London. He remains active in research and education and is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Brighton & Sussex Medical School.
