Biography
Dr Julia Fozard is a Consultant Paediatrician working in General Paediatrics. She was appointed to the Trust in September 2019 following completion of paediatric training within the Kent/Surrey/Sussex Deanery.
Julia completed her medical degree (MBBS) at University College London, graduating in 2008. She also has a BSc (2:1 Hons) in Psychology also obtained at University College London as well as a post-graduate diploma in Global Child Health, obtained at the Institute of Child Health, London.
In her General Paediatric role, Julia manages and cares for all children from birth to 18 years of age presenting to the acute services, as well as seeing children in the outpatient setting.
In March 2021, Julia took up the lead role for Children’s Cancer Services in Worthing and has oversight of the Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit (POSCU) which liases directly with the Tertiary Oncology Centre in Southampton. The POSCU offers a local chemotherapy day service as well as supportive care to all patients undergoing oncological treatment.
Julia also has an interest in improving collaboration between primary care services and secondary care paediatrics in order to provide a more holistic approach to child health in Worthing. She is currently involved in a pilot scheme which looks to build on these relationships.
Julia previously held college roles within RCPCH, representing trainees within the college trainee committee and examinations committee and more recently as ‘ Stepping Up’ Champion for KSS which aims to help smooth the transition from trainee doctor to consultant. She continues to have a keen interest in education and training, with a strong emphasis on well being.
Out of work, Julia enjoys yoga and time on the beach with her family.
