Biography
Dr Charlotte Ford graduated from University of Liverpool Medical School in 2004 having previously obtained a Genetics BSc (with First class hons) from the University of Leeds in 1999. She undertook her postgraduate junior medical training in a variety of hospitals in North London before achieving membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008.
Charlotte then entered higher specialist training and rotated through a number of posts training in gastroenterology across North East and South London between 2009 to 2017, including posts at UCLH, the Royal Free liver transplant unit, St George’s Hospital and King’s College Hospital.
In 2014 she undertook a Fellowship in Education, Leadership and Management at the London School of Medicine. During this time she gained formal qualifications in post graduate medical education and developed an interest in supporting trainee doctors returning to practice (RTP) following a break in training, developing nationally implemented RTP initiatives.
In her consultant post at University Hospital Sussex, she now provides expertise in the diagnosis and management of all aspects of general gastroenterology and undertake diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy. She is actively involved in medical education and the training and development of doctors at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
