Raising Concerns and Speaking Up
Raising a concern is not always easy, but it is the right thing to do. It ensures we consistently provide the best possible working environment for colleagues, and deliver high quality, safe patient care.
Find out how to speak up, learn about The Guardian Service and access useful resources and policies via our Raising Concerns intranet page.
Check Out
The Check Out campaign aims to improve awareness of the psychological impact a stressful incident at work has on staff and to encourage people to access support.
Occupational Health
UHSussex supports your health by working with you to ensure you are working in a healthy environment and encouraging you to take responsibility for your health and wellbeing, both inside and outside work. Visit the Occupational Health support for staff page.
Continuing Professional Development
Identify opportunities to learn something new, refresh existing knowledge, improve skills, or simply keep up-to-date with the latest developments within health and wellbeing at UHSussex.
Induction for International Medical Graduates (IMGs)
International Medical Graduates (IMGs) form a significant proportion of the medical workforce within the NHS. When they first arrive in the UK, this group of doctors may face challenges both professionally and personally, many of which are linked to communication.
The Induction for International Medical Graduates, accessible via Iris, will primarily support IMGs as they adjust to UK norms of interaction and enable them to build productive professional relationships. We also hope that these modules will be helpful for supervisors of IMGs who are seeking a closer understanding of their international colleagues` learning needs and sources of specialist support.
In-house workshops and training
Our in-house Managing Mental Health and Wellbeing at Work course equips managers, team leaders and supervisors, with the skills they need to manage mental health and wellbeing at work.
The UHSussex Leader’s Toolkit contains resources and guides for managers and individuals to help start conversations and support your wellbeing.
