KnowledgeShare is a tool used by the Knowledge and Library Service to improve your access to evidence. We use it to send you tailored evidence updates, to manage requests for in-depth evidence searches and to offer teaching on information skills.
Our evidence update emails are designed to be targeted to your individual professional interests. They contain high-impact publications in your area, including guidelines, policy and high-level research evidence.
In summer 2024, we surveyed NHS staff in Sussex about the impact of these evidence updates. Here are some of the findings from the survey:
- 88% rated the updates as good or excellent
- 80% found most or all of the information was new to them
- 82% said their updates contributed to personal/professional development
- 65% said their updates contributed to more informed decision making
I really like them – they often have some real gems that I wouldn’t have seen by any other route. I’m grateful for them as they draw attention to new evidence in my fields of interest – thank you.

By keeping up to date on current research I have been able to pass information on to patients and I am able to adapt my practice to better support them.

I have used Knowledge share to support my professional development and CPD since I qualified as an NMP. I now use this to keep up-to-date with development in my current area of practice. It’s such a valuable tool and saves valuable time.

I do not think I would engage with the literature nearly as much as I do, if it was not for this service, as it just would not fit into my working week to go to the effort of doing the searching etc., however as the material is just presented straight to my inbox it makes it so easy and accessible.
